Purpose of Wheel Spacer

Wheel spacer do exactly what their name implies: they move the wheel out from its hub, widening the overall track width, either for cosmetic or functional reasons. They range from low-priced, universal, stamped spacers to model-specific, high-dollar, machined billet parts.

Spacers are usually made of aluminum and come in widths from 3mm to more than 2 inches. They mount behind the wheels using the wheel bolts or studs, and push the wheels out toward the fender.

Cosmetically, moving the mount point of a wheel out toward the fender lip can bring the wheel face flush with the fender, making the wheel appear wider and filling in the gap created when a wheel sits too far in.

The larger calipers common on brake upgrades can rub the backs of wheels, and installing spacers can bring back the necessary gap, eliminating the need for modification of expensive wheels or calipers.

Installing aftermarket wheels with larger-than-factory offsets can mean rubbing on the inner fender, and installing a spacer can bring the wheel back into spec. For instance, if the wheels you want only come in a 48 mm offset, but your stock wheels are 38 mm, using a 10 mm spacer would make the final offset 38 mm (48 mm - 10 mm spacer = 38 mm final offset) and, all else being equal, usable on your car.

How to replace Brake Disc?

Replacing drum brakes isn't difficult but it does require special tools and a mistake could kill you. It is not recommended that you attempt to repair your own brakes. This is for educational purposes only and hopefully will convince you that the price charged by a trained mechanic is well worth it.

So here’s how to replace brake drums:

Remove the hubcap and loosen the nuts.

Jack up the car and support it with jack stands. NEVER work on a car supported by a jack alone. Blocks of wood or bricks or even cinder blocks aren't suitable substitutes.

Finish removing the nuts and remove the tire.

Spray the hub of the wheel with penetrating oil (PB Blaster - WD-40 is not a penetrating oil!).

Grab the brake drum by the edges and try and pull it off.

Note: some brake drums are held on with screws so you will need to take them out.

Once the drum is off take a look at it. It should be refaced or replaced if it is scored.

Spray the whole brake mechanism with brake cleaner. The dust from most brakes is ASBESTOS and you don't want to breathe it in, so wear a mask.

How to replace Rod bearings?

Many of us want to know to replace any parts of our car. So some of us reading some DIY’s for us to help ourselves and to save money also for the repair and of course to learn.

How to replace Rod bearings?

First is to Remove the connecting rods from the pistons and crankshaft, if they are not already out. The rod's "big ends" (the larger end) are bolted to the crank with two bolts that hold the end cap on. The "small end" is held onto the wrist pin. The wrist pin is held onto the piston with two circlips. And then Remove these clips and slide the wrist pin out of the piston and the end of the rod. This should free the rod.

Next is Remove the old bearings. You can use a screwdriver and a hammer to GENTLY tap out the old bearings. Tap on the edge of the bearing where it meets the end cap and vice-versa. Do not tap the bearing out from the side.

Many people are asking if it is ok to replace OEM PowerAntenna with the universal power antenna. Some of them really do fit but some cars still don’t.  Your replacement power antenna should be the same power antenna you had with your unit. You can have universal power antenna but the OEM is a god choice. We can find or buy OEM into our local dealer or better ask mechanic for it. But if you want to have universal, you can find it in some online store or eBay. I know there’s only a bit difference with the price of universal and original. But of course, original part was made with high quality compared to universal power antenna. Aside from that, having the original and came from the dealer, you’re assure that you can have warranty and the part really last long.  Universal power antenna really works well.  Even if it’s not branded, it still has the quality you won’t regret. But not all universal power antennas really fit your vehicle. It still up to what brand make and model your vehicle is.
